Summary
Whistler Takeover is an annual event series taking place in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada that began in 2017 out of an appreciation for bringing friends together through the pursuit of snow sports. In the second year of the event, music-focused components of the event were hosted throughout clubs in Whistler Village. Eventually the needs of the event grew beyond what clubs in Whistler Village could offer, ultimately culminating in booking an entire hotel so the hotel lobby could be used as event space. Whistler Takeover was held virtually in 2021 and was significantly scaled back in 2022. Whistler Takeover returned in 2023 with a full three-night hotel buyout, and a full programming schedule.
Through the years Whistler Takeover has found the core set of components to the event, spanning music-focused lobby performances, group après ski celebrations, pool & hot tub parties, group brunches, and of course on-mountain skiing and snowboarding.
